The word “information” gets pulled into service in ways, sometimes quasi-scientific, sometimes imitating the philosophical mode, but ways nevertheless in which cult adherents aren’t prepared to explain or defend. Information. They seem content to just repeat the word, the sound of which rolling around in the mouth, alone imparting the vague feeling of meaning.
…and then there is that word, “evidence”.
When no actual correlation exists, the cult adherent shouts, “yeah, but there’s evidence everywhere!”
And when actual correlation is displayed, explained, substantiated, repeated, the same booster for content free “evidence” and ethereal “information” become sullen and defensive, offering a faintly petulant, “you aren’t interpreting your senses correctly” before suddenly becoming interested in “errands”.
